Identify forecast sources you can use before hikes or campouts and emergency warning sources for home and outdoor events.

Forecast sources

  • Weather apps, the National Weather Service, local television weather reports, local radio, and forecast websites are all possible sources.
  • Choose at least two you would trust before hikes, overnight camping, and outdoor activities.

Emergency warning sources

  • Wireless emergency alerts on phones, NOAA Weather Radio, local TV/radio interruptions, and public warning systems are common warning sources.
  • Name at least two that could reach you both at home and during Scout activities.
