This path follows one requirement per page. Begin with the first requirement, then continue in order until you reach the counselor review step.

Badge summary

  1. Watch the Digital Safety video with parent or guardian permission.
  2. Compare how digital technology has changed over time, including differences between your lifetime and an older generation's.
  3. Imagine future computers and digital devices that might exist when you are an adult.
  4. Explain how text, sound, and images are digitized, compressed, and used by common digital devices.
  5. Compare computers, mobile devices, and gaming consoles, and explain networks such as LANs and WANs.
  6. Describe how apps use the CPU and memory, name helpful software your family uses, and explain malware protection.
  7. Learn how information moves across the internet, use search engines well, and understand trusted HTTPS connections.
  8. Complete three hands-on digital projects using tools such as spreadsheets, documents, graphics, presentations, photos, audio, blogs, or webpages.
  9. Discuss intellectual property, e-waste and recycling, and either research a digital technology career or connect the badge to a hobby.
